Your Questions About Foreclosures

Joseph asks…

If your plane crashes into the hudson river, does the airlines pay you for your lost property?

Like if you had a laptop, or a suitcase full of clothing
I’m just courious. I think it is AWESOME that no one died in the accident. Life comes first over a laptop of coarse, but I was just wondering what happens after…. thats all.

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

Technically bags are insured up to $3000 and because the crash was caused by a bird strike, it would probably be ruled an Act of God. That said, I’m willing to bet that USAirways will quietly pay compensation above and beyond.

Your Questions About Foreclosures

Mary asks…

How safe is it to eat striped bass from the Hudson River?

How commonplace is it for an angler to keep their fish to eat?

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

There are health advisories on 130 waters in NY. The lower hudson river and bay is included in these with recommendations of eating not more than 1/2 pound a week.
Here is a link to much more info :

l would think, with stripers being anadromous and migratory, they would pass through unclean areas rather quickly and reach their spawning areas in cleaner water.
But, l don’t live in NY so l am not a local expert on this. Perhaps, none of the river is clean.

Your Questions About Foreclosures

James asks…

How deep is the water on the Hudson River and how the heck did the airplane say afloat?

This question must have been asked before, but I am just getting caught up with this tremendous story…..Thanks

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The water was very deep. The airplane sayed afloat from the Tank filled with Gasoline that was inside of the plane. The Gasoline was less dense to the water which made the aircraft stay afloat.
