I was to Newburgh and through down to Warwick and Pine Island. I sure loved that area. And the river is just beautiful. It was the first time I had ever seen it.

Jenny asks…

In what year did the Hudson River, NY get its name?

The Hudson River was called the North River by the Englis. After the Revolutionary war it was changed. But in what year?

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

The earliest known reference to the Hudson River is in 1648, nearly 39 years after Henry Hudson explored the region in 1609.

It is likely that it’s original nomenclature was Hudson’s River and, over time, abridged to the Hudson River.

Mark asks…

What states does the Hudson River touch & where does it originate?

I also need to ask… Where does the Susquehanna River touch? Where does the Susquehanna River begin?

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

Hudson River runs through New York. Originates in Hudson Bay. I think the Susquehanna flows through Maryland, and comes from the Cheasapeake Bay.

A US Airways plane has crashed into the Hudson River near Manhattan. We at NBC News in the San Francisco Bay Area want to know if anyone had family or friends on the plane. We would like to talk with you. We are hearing everyone on board survived.
We don’t expect to hear from anyone for several hours.

The Expert answers:

No, but you can quote me saying that I will NEVER fly anywhere again.
