Susan asks…

How do I get from Grand Central Terminal to Hudson Street and West Houston by subway/bus?

I will be commuting into the city and need to learn how to get from Grand Central to the corner of Hudson and West Houston by subway and buses. I don’t mind walking a few blocks, but the closer the better.

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

My friend, from Grand Central take the 42nd Street Shuttle, which is the Black Line on the subway map at the link below, or the 7 train (Purple Line) westbound to Times Square.

Once at Times Square, transfer to the downtown (southbound) number 1 train (Red Line), which will take you from there to Houston Street.

When you exit the subway at Houston Street, follow the walking directions to Hudson Street on the map at the link below.

The fare on the subway is $2.25 with a pay per ride (regular fare) MetroCard or $2.50 with SingleRide ticket. Since you’re going to be a frequent commuter, you can purchase a weekly unlimited MetroCard for $29, which will be a huge money saver.

In regards to the Shuttle. Due curvature of the station platform at Times Square, please watch your step when getting off or on the Shuttle train.

I hope this information is very helpful.

Good luck

Steven asks…

Does anyone know whether a hudson ukulele should have one steel string and the rest nylon?

Its a electro acoustic hudson ukulele and I’m thinking of buying it. The owner says it has one metal string and the rest are nylon. Should this be so or has someone altered it?

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

It’s not about the brand, it’s about the size of the ukulele. Tenors sometimes have one wound steel string, and baritones might have two. If it’s a soprano or concert size, then stick to nylon. Just never only use steel strings on a ukulele, because it’s not built to withstand the tension.

What is the Summer Work for Hudson High School in Florida?

Due to the boundary changes, I’ll be going to Hudson High School next year (In Florida). Does anyone know what the AP European History Summer Work is? I don’t know what teacher I’ll have, since they haven’t given out the schedules yet. I’ll be going into 11th grade- does anybody know who I should contact in order to get the assignment?

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

All districts have a website. And on that website should be links to every school in that district’s website. So your school should have a website. Search it on Google. On the home page of your school should be a number to the administration office. I would suggest calling that number and asking. It might even already say on the home page what all the summer assignments are.
