How often does HUD hold orientation for new grantees in West Virginia?

Also, how long after orientation should I expect to recieve my certificate?

I live in Kanawha County and the last time I updated my info at the HUD office the woman mentioned that my name was in the round of new grantees and that I’d recieve a letter telling me when orientation is. Well I almost wish she wouldn’t have told me that because now Im very very antsy to get this show on the road.

What is the difference between a foreclosure and a HUD home?

I have been looking for house for sale on the internet and have come across foreclosure and HUD homes. What is the difference?

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

HUD (federal agency called Housing and Urban Development) homes are homes where the mortgage is guaranteed by HUD. So, when the bank forecloses, HUD pays the mortgage off, seizes the property, and then sells the home to recoup their losses. A foreclosure sale is when the lender forecloses on an owner, seizes the property, and then sells it to recoup their losses.

What is the differnce between a REO and a HUD home?

Go with the HUD home. HUD makes sure everything is in good order before they sell, you take your chances with a regular REO.
