Your Questions About Foreclosures

Thomas asks…

Why does the foreclosure auction on my neighbors house keep getting postponed?

It was added online to a foreclosure listing site in March of 2008 and every month, a couple days before the auction date, it gets postponed for about a month. Once it was postponed for six months. The place is becoming a veritable garbage dump. The new auction date is in August, but I suppose that will be postponed as well. Anybody with foreclosure knowledge have any ideas? Thanks.

Carol asks…

How long take to a Foreclosure house goes to the auction?

I live in the state of Oklahoma and I live in my house during 1 year in Foreclosure. And I would like to know how long will take for me receive the evicted notice and leave my house?

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

In OK, the foreclosure process takes about 90 days, assuming you haven’t done anything to hold it up and your lender does everything as quickly as the law allows.

Your best bet is to call the courthouse or your lender to find out if a sale date has been scheduled. If a sale is scheduled, then your time is running out. If the home has already sold, then they could probably evict you any day now.

If there is no sale scheduled, consider yourself lucky, because the lender is obviously taking their time to get through the foreclosure process.

the house was auctioned April 14

Your Questions About Foreclosures

The Expert answers:

Depends on the state, type of loan, if it was a tax sale etc.

In the most common in the west a deed of trust they can evict you at any time. If you had a mortgage it could up to a year and for tax sales seems like at least 6 months to a year.

Email me off forum and I can give you some other ideas if it wasn’t a deed of trust
